Hannah Fischer

Hannah E. Fischer is a 15 year resident of Belmont, MA and describes herself as a devoted Belmont Public Library patron from the first day she entered the library building. She has two children in the Belmont Public Schools – Chenery Middle School and Belmont High School  Ms. Fischer joined the board of the Belmont Library Foundation in 2019. She has served eight years on the board of the Foundation for Belmont Education (FBE), five of those as VP of Marketing and Communications. She also holds board positions with the Belmont Food Pantry and the Friends of the Belmont Public Library.

Ms. Fischer has an employment background straddling the non-profit and publishing worlds. She currently works as a freelance editor and writer and, prior to moving to Belmont, she served as an Associate Director of the New America Foundation, a public policy think tank in Washington, DC. Additionally, Ms. Fischer worked as an Associate Director at the America Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay where she was responsible for publications management and disaster services training.
