David Stievater is a healthcare sales and marketing executive. For 20 years, he has shaped strategy and driven growth for organizations ranging from small start ups to Fortune 50 companies, focusing on medical providers, health IT and pharmaceuticals. At athenahealth, David led development of a hospital sales channel, helped turn around sales of the Epocrates mobile messaging product, and provided thought leadership on the changing U.S. healthcare system. He started his healthcare career as a Partner with the Monitor Group consultancy (now MonitorDeloitte), providing strategic services to Merck & Co.
David has lived in Belmont with his wife Katherine for nearly 25 years. Their four boys have all attended Belmont public schools. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and an MBA from Michigan’s Ross School of Business. David has served multiple terms as a Belmont Town Meeting Member. Other volunteer activities have included serving as a Georgetown alumni interviewer, coaching soccer and baseball, and chairing the Evergreen Preschool Board of Trustees. He enjoys history, reading, good wine with good food, and spending summers with his family in Maine. And – being raised in Buffalo – he carries the burden of being a Bills fan living in New England!
